The Most Important Phrase

Aš nesuprantu. (I don't understand.)

  • Pronunciation: Ash ne-su-pran-TU.

Add a polite "Atsiprašau" (Excuse me/Sorry) before it:

  • Atsiprašau, aš nesuprantu.

"Do You Speak English?"

Younger people in Vilnius/Kaunas almost always speak English. Older generations might speak Russian.

  • Ar kalbate angliškai? (Do you speak English?)
  • Ar kalbate rusiškai? (Do you speak Russian?)
